Lenin = Commie = Lennon

December 8, 2007

So, today is the anniversary of the death of John Lennon.  You’re not hearing much about it today as it is not a major date (such as the 25th or 30th).  It really bugs me every time it comes up though.  Not that it was not tragic.  We did lose a great musician/song writer (ok…mediocre songwriter).   We didn’t really lose a great humanitarian though.  We lost a father who decided to completely ignore his son from his first marriage as if it never happened.  We lost someone starving for attention after the collapse of the Beatles phenomenon.   Most of all, we lost a posing socialist commie.

Have you ever listened to the lyrics of his most famous song?  The song that critics still, to this die, have mini orgasms over?

“Imagine there’s no Heaven…and no Religion too.”  No, John.  I don’t want to imagine that.  That is what Marx, Lenin and Stalin would have us do.

“Imagine there’s no countries, It isn’t hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for…”  Yes, let’s have one big world economy and see how long we survive.  I remember you were so enamored with no countries that you became a US citizen.

Here is the best one:
“Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world”  Yeah, John.  I notice that before your death you were giving up all your millions, your homes and your life style for the “brotherhood of man”.

As you can clearly see, that song is nothing more than a Communist manifesto.   Just as with so many of the leftist wackos that are running around Hollywood today, or the Global Warming nut jobs, he wanted all this…but ONLY for others, not himself.

Do you really think he would be as revered today if he was not Anti-war?  If he was pro capitalism?  Heck no!  His death would be another footnote of classic rock tragedies such as Jim Morrison or Janis Joplin.  If Paul had died, we would not be celebrating the anniversary of his death even though Paul was a much better song writer/musician than John could ever hope for.  Look at the works of Paul from the time the Beatles broke up to Johns death then look at what John did.

As for being such a remarkable song writer…whatever.  Throw up songs such as Townshend’s “Love Reign O’er” or Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” or even “Gimmie Shelter” by Jagger/Richards against Lennon’s and his pale in comparison.  Lennon wrote tripe such as “Imagine” while Paul wrote “Yesterday”.

You want someone whose song writing should be revered, it is Warren Zevon yet most people don’t even know who he is and couldn’t name a single song.  A guy of moral virtue he wasn’t but he sure knew how to write a song.  Most people, if anything, only know “Werewolves or London” or “Lawyers, Guns and Money” but his collection of works is stunning.  I fell in love with his music, sadly, after his death.  His lyrics were pure genius and blow away anything that Lennon and Yoko put out.  If you really want to hear good songwriting, buy his last album (that he made in the last year of his life when he knew he had cancer and only months to live) called “The Wind” and I guarantee you will become a fan and want to hear his earlier works.

Anyway, can we please just have a moratorium on celebrating John Lennon as some mystical god-like musician…at least until the 50th anniversary of his death.

Oh!  And isn’t it strange that we “celebrate” these deaths as an “anniversary”?

Green Hanukkah

December 6, 2007

So, have you heard the latest from the Global Warming pot heads?  I guess that every candle that burns down to the bottom produces 15 grams of carbon dioxide.  They are now suggesting that those of the Jewish faith light one less candle during Hanukah to “save the atmosphere.”

I know, I know…I sound like a broken record but PLEASE can we get a moratorium on these Global Warming nut jobs?

Tammy Bruce

November 14, 2007

I would like to endorse a book today.  Tammy Bruce has written a great book entitled “The New Thought Police: Inside the Left’s Assault on Free Speech and Free Minds“.  It is a few years old but is fascinating.  As many of you know, if you read my blog, I am a pretty strong Conservative and cannot abide “Jersey Wearers” of any political persuasion.  Having said this, you might be surprised that I would read a book by someone like Tammy Bruce.  She is a far left Liberal, feminist activist and pro-choice advocate.  The great thing though is that she is a free thinker.  She takes the “jersey” off and takes to task those on the left who are seeking to silence the opposition.

She was the President of NOW for about 7 years back in the 90’s and supported many Liberals on the left until she began to see example after example of their abuse of power, their hypocrisy and their thirst for power.  She felt their abuse and gag attempts first hand.

Her book just reinforces the fact that the left cannot win on ideas so they must simply silence the opposition.  They shout down those they disagree with or actually riot and chase them off stages at college campuses.    You can see this in the whole Global Warming argument.  The left won’t debate the issue.  Instead, as Gore just did, they state the debate is over and we shouldn’t even allow the other side to be heard anymore.

The examples she gives in this book, which are MANY, really fly in the face of the Liberal whining that they are the ones for open dialogues or free speech.  That Fox is the one who is bias, not the rest of the media.  That they are the party of openness or diversity.  One thing that it really does prove is that Liberals like Dr. Elrod from Harding University have no idea what they are talking about when they make ridiculous statements such as:

“I’m a Democrat because I believe that party has a better track record on two things I believe in very strongly: tolerance and free expression.”

It’s a great read and I am looking forward to reading her other works.  In the meantime, let’s get a moratorium on ANYONE who wants to shut-up someone simply because they disagree with what they are saying.  Freedom of speech is not just about what YOU want to say.

The Real Heroes

November 10, 2007

Iwo Jima

On this Veterans day, I was thinking of all the brave Men and Women who have given their lives for freedom for our nation and was struck by something that is being said quite often these days.  Something that really makes me sick.  Over the past few years you have been hearing about all these people who are “saving the world” by buying a certain kind of light bulb or driving an eco friendly car.  They are “saving the world” by flying up to the North Pole to do a news story or by spending millions of dollars to finance a concert.

Let me tell you who REALLY saved the world.  The men who stormed the beaches of Normandy or Iwo Jima.  Who survived the winter of 1944-45 at Bastogne with no winter supplies.  Who liberated concentration camps or survived the Bataan death march.  These men and women took it upon themselves to face an evil that encompassed the globe…that was attempting genocide and truly trying to take over the world.

THEY are the ones who saved the world.  Not idiots like Al Gore or Matt Lauer or any of the other narcissistic global warming crowd.

Lets get a moratorium on fake heroes who travel to Europe, not to fight against an evil such as Adolf Hitler, but to campaign for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Make sure you thank a Vet today.

Global Debate

August 8, 2007

AlgoreSo, what’s the problem with Al?  If he is so confident and so passionate and so right about all this global warming crap, why doesn’t he debate the issue?  Why doesn’t he at least discuss it with folks who are against it?  Because he knows he won’t win.  Because he knows that his utter hypocrisy will show through.

He was recently challenged to a debate but refuses.  I love this quote from Dennis Avery who has challenged Gore to a debate and is co-author of the book “Unstoppable Global Warming Every 1,500 Years.”:

“If global warming truly is the most important public policy issue of our day, then it is high time the public got to hear the arguments from both sides matched up against each other,”

Check out some of Gore’s detractors: Prof. S. Fred Singer (former director of the U.S. National Weather Service), Tim Ball, Ph.D. (historical climatologist), Prof. Ian Clark (University of Ottawa), and Prof. Richard Lindzen (MIT).  Just to name a few.

Once again, let’s get a moratorium on global warming.

Global Warming (again!)

June 26, 2007

What do you hear all the time from these global warming nuts?  You hear about how the earths temperature is going up.  Ever wonder how they know?  They have different stations set up that give them a read out of the earths temperature.  Ok, that is easy enough, right?   Now, let me ask you, wouldn’t it make sense to position these weather stations in isolated places so as to get the most accurate measurement?  I mean, if you are going to guage rainfall do you put your rain guage under the gutter?  By the same means, would you place your station in the middle of a black tar parking lot?  Surley not, right?  Weeeeellllll you gotta know what is next don’t cha?

Anthony Watts of California is a former TV meteorologist.  He began to take a gander at where the over a 1000 surface stations that our beloved Govco uses to collect data on temperatures.   This is the same information that the global warming crowd (including our lovely Senators and Congress folk) uses to bolster their claims that the earth is frying like a egg on a skillet.  Now, keep with me here….Govco states these surface stations should be, just like I said, isolated in order to give the best readings possible.  They should be around 100 feet from things like concrete or other things that generate or give off heat.  Makes perfect sense (even for Govco…a broken clock is right twice a day, yada, yada, yada).  Think these regs are being followed though?  Here are a few examples of where some of these stations are located:

  • Parking lots and airports
  • By vents from AC units
  • By fire (yes, you read that correctly)
  • Across from buildings
  • Beside vehicles
  • Electronic, heat generating devices placed right next to sensors
  • In front of jet blasts

Nice, huh?  Check his site out.  He has pictures and everything.   This just, once again, makes the whole global warming hype look like the travesty, the sham, the mockery, the travashamockery it is.  What a joke.

Now, once again, can we get a moratorium on global warming nuts?  Actually, let’s just get one on Algore and the rest will take care of itself.  Speaking of the nut job Gore, do you really think he would still be as much into all this global warming frenzy if he had actually won in 2000?  No way!!  He just cannot take not being in the lime light.  Have you noticed that he really didn’t get neck into this until after he lost the primary in 2004 and he was no longer considered a viable candidate?   Sure, he has talked global warming BS for a long time, even before 2000, but he was never in it this deep or this wide spread until he saw no future as a Presidential candidate.  Now, it looks like he might have enough popularity due to all the recent press of the last few years to jump back in…enough popularity mabye but he is still too wacko to be taken seriously.

Global Warming Part 3

April 24, 2007

Ok, now I see the Global Warming nuts want it both ways (figuratively speaking, of course).  Here are a few examples:
1. Record number of  hurricanes hit the US  in 2005 = Global Warming.  No Hurricanes hit the US in 2006 = Global Warming
2. Heat wave in January =  Global Warming.  Cold snap in April = Global Warming
3. Drought = Global Warming.  Massive rain fall = Global Warming

You see, this is why they cannot be taken seriously.

Oh, yeah…speaking of Wackos, did you see where Sheryl Crow thinks we should conserve toilet paper now?  Only use 1 square per restroom visit.  Maybe 2 or 3 on those “pesky” occasions.  I don’t know about you but I usually don’t have a square to spare.  I can’t spare a square!  I did like Rosie’s comment about it: “Have you seen my ass?”.

Even so, I still love her music.  That is the conundrum I face many times.  Having to look past their politics and just enjoy the music.  It’s tough sometimes but if you enjoy it, you can get past it.  Just shut-up and rock!

Let’s have a 10 year moratorium on artists trying to be scientists.

Global Warming 2

February 27, 2007

This is interesting.  The Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore using 20 times more energy then the average household.  What Hypocrisy!  He stands up there on Sunday night, accepting his Oscar and tells us we need to use less energy…then hops back in his jet to fly back to his 20 room, 8 bathroom mansion.  The mansion that uses more electricity every month than the average American uses in an entire YEAR!  The mansion that uses more natural gas than the average American.  A mansion that used $30,000 in electricity and gas in 2006.  The same mansion he doesn’t even live in while he globe trots telling us to how to live!

Nice, huh?

Snow/Cold Weather

February 15, 2007

What is wrong with people??  It’s winter.  WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?????  The media is treating all this snow in the Midwest and northeast as if aliens came down from Mars.  Up in Michigan I read and hear people complaining about the snow and how cold it is.  YOU LIVE IN MICHIGAN.  IT GET’S COLD.  THERE IS SNOW IN WINTER.  Isn’t that partially why you live there?  I can understand if you get transferred there for your job (sorta) but for those people who grew up there, you have NO excuse.

Consequently, I live in the South.  It gets mighty hot in the summer and I hear the same thing when the tempature rises close to 100.  Weather people freak out and people start to B&M.  Give it a rest.  It’s one thing to comment about the heat or cold but quite another to freak out and complain endlessly about how much you hate the cold/heat and can’t wait for summer/winter.

Oh, and have you heard the latest….snow and cold in winter is due to Global Warming.

Give me at least one or two years moratorium on over hyping the weather.

Global Warming

February 8, 2007

Can you believe how frantic the Left has gotten in regards to Global Warming?  As I said below, now some scientists are saying that no matter what we do, things will get nothing but worse for the next 1000 years.  I am sick of hearing only ONE side of this debate.  Well, you can’t even call it a debate anymore since some on the Left (Barbara Boxer, Al Gore) are saying that the talking is done.  It’s fact.  In fact, some are saying we need to muzzle those who don’t believe it or strip them of their credentials.  They call those who don’t buy into it “deniers”.

Many folks have brought up excellent points in this how debacle.  Michael Crichton wrote an excellent novel on this called State of Fear where he provides actual facts in novel form.  I highly recommend it.  Neal Boortz laid out many of the facts very clearly:

·        Many of the loudest proponents of man-made global warming today are confirmed anti-capitalists.

·        Because the sun is warmer .. and all of these scientists don’t seem to be willing to credit a warmer sun with any of the blame for global warming.

·        The polar ice caps on Mars are melting. How did our CO2 emissions get all the way to Mars?

·        It was warmer in the 1930s across the globe than it is right now.

·        It wasn’t all that long ago that these very same scientists were warning us about “global cooling” On July 24, 1974 Time Magazine published an article entitled “Another Ice Age?” Here’s the first paragraph:   “As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.”

·        How much has the earth warmed up in the last 100 years? One degree. Now that’s frightening.

·        Because that famous “hockey stick” graph that purports to show a sudden warming of the earth in the last few decades is a fraud. It ignored previous warming periods … left them off the graph altogether.

·        The infamous Kyoto accords exempt some of the world’s biggest CO2 polluters, including China and India. The Kyoto accords can easily be seen as nothing less than an attempt to hamstring the world’s dominant capitalist economies.

·        Because many of these scientists who are sounding the global warming scare depend on grant money for their livelihood, and they know the grant money dries up when they stop preaching the global warming sermon.

·        Because global warming “activists” and scientists seek to punish those who have different viewpoints. If you are sure of your science you have no need to shout down or seek to punish those who disagree.

·        What happened to the Medieval Warm Period? In 1996 the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a chart showing climatic change over a period of 1000 years. This graph showed a Medieval warming period in which global temperatures were higher than they are today. In 2001 the IPCC issued another 1000 year graph in which the Medieval warming period was missing. Why?

·        Why has one scientist promoting the cause of man-made global warming been quoted as saying “we have to get rid of the medieval warming period?”

·        Why is the ice cap on the Antarctic getting thicker if the earth is getting warmer?

·        In the United States, the one country with the most accurate temperature measuring and reporting records, temperatures have risen by 0.3 degrees centigrade over the past 100 years. The UN estimate is twice that.

·        There are about 160,000 glaciers around the world. Most have never been visited or measured by man. The great majority of these glaciers are growing, not melting.

·        Side-looking radar interferometry shows that the ice mass in the West Antarctic is growing at a rate of over 26 gigatons a year. This reverses a melting trend that had persisted for the previous 6,000 years.

·        Rising sea levels? The sea levels have been rising since the last ice age ended. That was 12,000 years ago. Estimates are that in that time the sea level has risen by over 300 feet. The rise in our sea levels has been going on long before man started creating anything but natural CO2 emissions.

·        Like Antarctica, the interior of Greenland is gaining ice mass.

·        Over the past 3,000 years there have been five different extended periods when the earth was measurably warmer than it is today.

·        During the last 20 years — a period of the highest carbon dioxide levels — global temperatures have actually decreased. That’s right … decreased.

·        Why did a reporter from National Public Radio refuse to interview David Deming, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma studying global warming, after his testimony to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee unless Deming would state that global warming was being caused by man?

·        Why are global warming proponents insisting that the matter is settled and that no further scientific research is needed? Why are they afraid of additional information?

·        According to Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, there is no such thing as man-made climate change.  He calls the whole thing “the greatest deception in the history of science.”  Is he right?  Who knows…but what happened to the idea of open debate?  This guy is treated by the media and the Left as some sort of global warming denier…a kook who thinks the Earth is still flat.

·      Over 15,000 scientists who have signed a petition expressing their doubts in idea that any global warming we might be experiencing is being caused by man.  That petition says: “We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in yoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind. There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.”

·        Here is the link to his site

Now, do you hear ANY of this in the mainstream media?  Nope.  It’s all about money.  If there was no money involved, there would be no talk to Global Warming at all.  This is the point made in State of Fear as well.  We need a 1000 year moratorium on Global Warming panic.  Notice, I didn’t say on Global Warming.  Just on the panic.  On the misrepresentation.  On the misinformation.  On the silencing of any sort of disagreement.  On Al Gore.  I think it should still be studied, just as ANY sort of weather is studied.  We just don’t need to be lied to or ignored.  We also don’t need to listen to the hypocrites such as Laurie David or Al Gore who tell us we must use less yet they fly around the world in their private jets.

On another note, can you imagine if the GOP were pushing this?  It would be called “scare tactics” by the very same people who are for it.  You know, that’s how we can stop it.  If George Bush got behind ALL the Global Warming crap, the Liberals would run the other way and denounce it!!
