Here is a nice letter from a Dodge dealer in Florida:

May 19, 2009

letter to the editor
My name is George C. Joseph.  I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people.  We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month.  All depend on our business for part of their livelihood.  We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community.  We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees.  Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars.  This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as “new,” nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service.  There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler’s insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

This is beyond imagination!  My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN.  We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy.  This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families?  This is a total economic disaster.

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

George C. Joseph

President & Owner

Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu

Thank you President Obama.  Thank you to all of you people who voted for him.  THIS is what you get.  A Government that is taking over private businesses and closing them.  A Government that takes from one, by force, and gives to others.  Then again, this is exactly many Liberals such as the crybabies who post comments to my site.  They embrace things like this.

Kinda makes you sick, doesn’t it?  I have yet to hear any sort of solid defense for all this socialism.  Doubt I ever will.

Roland – or whatever your name is,

We have been over this before. You cannot use my name in your posts unless I consent to it. And I never will. So don’t even try, and get my name out of there immediately.

  2. Dude Says:

Mr. Sorenen, I think he is referring to another Dillon. But, maybe not.

  3. Roland Says:

Sure Dillon. I’m sorry..I forgot you have no defense most of the time and hate seeing that pointed out.

Well, your name is off the post so now everyone will only know I am referring to you from your comment to stop referring to you.

  4. Dude Says:

Oops…I guess he is referring to you.

Also, Roland, do you have more names?

  5. Dillon Sorenen Says:

Roland is not his real name. It’s a pseudonym from a Stephen King book.

Anyway, I’m done here. Carry on kids.

  6. Jimbo Says:

Bye Dillon! You never did contribute anything of substance to the discussions here.

  7. Roland Says:

Now, I wouldn’t say that. He provided much fodder and clearly demonstrated not only the hypocrisy of the left but also the sheer ignorance. He never has clearly or successfully refuted anything said here but only whines and complains.

As I pointed out in this post, they have NO argument and cannot defend this at all.

PLUS, he doesn’t come around here because many of the things he was critical of Bush on, the Democrats and Obama are doing the exact same thing or worse. It’s the same reason many Liberals don’t vocally support Obama as much as they did during the campaign. They knew that they couldn’t defend this stuff. They knew what Obama would do but, they have that huge “D” on their chest and have to support him.

    See ya!

I have never why understood some of the people you have called into account on their views get angry? If that is your point of view you should be proud! Say it loud “I’m a democrat and I believe in intitlement programs and also that the governement knows what is best for the masses!”

  9. Robin Says:

Ooooooo! You called them by name.

Before anyone reads this, take into consideration that I agree with Roland on almost all political subjects.

Guys, I usually don’t post on here, but I do visit the site regularly. I go to school with Dillon. Dillon brings an opposite viewpoint to this site that would contribute to a good conversation if you guys would argue a point instead of questioning intellect, insulting people, or just flat out saying he’s liberal he must be either stupid or a commy. Granted that a lot of the time Dillon is sarcastic or insulting about the topic instead of being analytical or debatable, however your responses to his comments are no better. I believe we can look at comments on this very post to see that.

The problem is Dillon and Roland think that the other is stupid, when in neither case is that true.

It’s hard to argue between two people who are on completely different sides of a spectrum, but if we can respect each other’s opinions then we can logically argue our points without acting like children.

Now if you guys want to actually debate the subject matter of this post instead of bickering, then I’ll be happy to post again. However, it seems like neither side is able to without resorting to childishness.

  11. Roland Says:

I’m still trying to figure out when and where he was so insulted when he actually discussed a point. When he is sarcastic or something, I am right back at him but as for discussing a point…I don’t know. Maybe I have but point me there.
