Govco and Sacrifice

All Americans will have to sacrifice to put the economy back on track

Why is it that we are always asked, by Politicians, do give more, to cut back, to sacrifice yet Govco NEVER is willing to take less.  Oh, sure, we have to cut back yet they give themselves a raise. We are told to do with less yet they increase their budget every year.

A great example of this is here in my city.  A year ago we were in a huge drought.  They had to implement water restrictions and the city/county were constantly having to beg people to comply, to use less water, to let their yards go brown, to take quicker showers and, yes, even to only flush when necessary.  Well, after a few months the city water department came and said they needed to raise rates because people were using less water.  So, they beg you to use less and when we do, they raise rates.  Now, we are pretty much out of the drought.  Lake levels are back up and everything yet do you think they will lower rates now?  Yeah…right.

Can we get a moratorium on Govco spending?

  1. Politics & Culture Says:

Yeah, let’s see some MAJOR cuts in our government. Do away with the National Education Association, scale back the IRS, slash the bureaucracy, eliminate congressional staff (make the congressmen and senators do some real work), and cut perks.

That would be a good START!

  2. Gwen Stacey Says:

AMEN! I could not agree more. You know what would really help, along with things like the NEA and such, enact term limits. That way, you are not paying more and more and more people like Kennedy and others who have been there for decades! Instead, you pay the starting rate more often.

pretty sure all senators and reps make the same salary

  4. Dude Says:

    That is correct, they do.
