Springsteen and Wal-Mart

So, Mr. Union himself is now in an exclusive deal to release his Greatest Hits album next month with Wal-mart.  Don’t you love these so called “Activists” who never practice what they preach?  Wal-Mart has been in the cross hairs of Unions for years and now the Boss is putting out his next album ONLY thru them.  Just like Gore and his huge house, SUV’s and jet setting, Springsteen shows us all what it’s really all about….MONEY.  Not that I have ANY problem with that at all.  Heck no!  More power to him, just don’t preach to us about the “worker” or the “unfair” practices of Wal-Mart.

I loved the various quotes by Don Henley of the Eagles when they went thru Wal-Mart exclusively for their last album.  He pretty much was honest and said it was about the business (a.k.a. = Money).  Here is a good quote from him:

“This is the world we live in, in the big picture, they can’t be any more evil than a major record label.”

At least he is honest about it.  Let’s get a moratorium, once again, on celebrity activists who never practice what they preach.  Heck, they don’t even try most of the time.

Oh, one more thing.  I know some are going to say that I am beating a dead horse…but it is MY dead horse so here goes:  I would LOVE to be there when Mark Elrod has to go to Wal-Mart to get the Springsteen album.  Although it’s a greatest hits, I am sure, just as all good marketers do, there will be a new song on there so you have to buy it.  You see, Elrod is a HUGE Springsteen fan.  He also is a rabid Anti Wal-mart do gooder.  On one of this blogs a year or so ago he was strutting around like a rooster and proclaiming he had not been to Wal-mart in over a year or something.  Happy Shopping Mark!

This is great! Springsteen is such a hypocrite.

One of Elrod’s disciples will probably go and buy it for him so that he doesn’t have to set foot in that evil place…..

Interesting. Well, at least he owns up to it. It does make you wonder though, had there been no outcry, would he be saying this?

    Thanks for the update Jonathan.

It is my firm belief that he took some heat from his fans and now he’s covering his ass.

Either that, or he’s just an idiot.

But the new CD is good!
