Where is the change?

November 26, 2008

“CHANGE!  CHANGE! CHANGE!”

That is what we heard for much of the Obama campaign.  He talked about setting a new tone in Washington.  That he was not the same old D.C. insider.  That, if you choose Hillary or others, you would be getting the same old thing.  That his administration would be new.  Would not be Washington insiders.  In fact, I think Mark Elrod pushed this idea as well and was just about crying over how different this administration would be.

Have you seen his cabinet so far?

Mr. Obama, we are still waiting for this so called “change”.

Union Card Check

November 25, 2008

I have been following this story for some time however, now that the Democrats rule Congress, it looks like this might actually become a reality.  Short story is that Unions want no more secret ballot when a company is pressured for Union organization.  So, as it is now, an organizer comes to you and ask you if you want to have your company allow Union organization.  Because you feel some pressure or just don’t want to see your tires slashed, you say yes.  You then go to vote on this and, because it is a secret ballot, you vote no and the company does not go Union.  Well, Unions, as you can guess, really don’t like this one bit.  They want all votes to be public so they can intimidate, threaten and, bottom line, get their way.

Flashback to 2001.  10 Democrats sent a letter to the Mexican Government urging them to make union elections secret.  Well, now they have changed their tune and want to do away with it.  Hypocrisy at it’s finiest.

Oh, to hear what Mark Elrod has to say about this, he with the “I always try to be supportive of the worker” attitude.

Honesty Rules

November 22, 2008

This Golfer is a great example of integrity.   Of doing the right thing.  In a snap shot, J.P. Hayes used a non-conforming ball for one hole in a second stage qualifier.  His caddy is the one who gave him the ball.  Instead of hiding this fact or ignoring it he contacted the PGA and disqualified himself from not only the tournament but for the entire PGA 2009 season.  This is not a major golfer with all kinds of endorsements to rest on either.  What an example for your kids about doing the right thing.

Contrast that with the new Chief of Police in Charlotte, NC.  Requirements are that you hold a four year degree.  Rodney Monroe got one from Virginia Commonwealth University.  So, he was interviewed and, eventually, hired by the city council of Charlotte.  Many applicants were not considered because they did not meet the requirements.  Now, there is an issue.  It seems that Monroe got the degree from VCU without completing all the requirements for graduation.  In fact, he was something like 30 credit hours short.  VCU has investigated this and come out and said that yes, the degree should not have been issued.  In fact, it now looks like it was given to him because of internal pressue at the school.

So, the degree is not really a degree at all.  He never completed the requirements.  Here is what the Police chief said:

“I’ve never asked anyone to do anything for me that I couldn’t do for myself.”

Oh, so it’s ok to accept stolen money as long as you didn’t ask for it?  Can I take money from an ATM that malfunctions?  I never asked for it.

Obviously there is more to this story, I just don’t have time to get into it fully however, the chief should look at the example of J.P. Hayes and realize that, as the chief of Police, honesty and integrity are part of the job.

How Obama got elected

November 19, 2008

After this video, Zogby took a poll of a much wider sampling than the video.  The results were pretty much the same:

-94% of Obama voters identified Palin as the candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter.

-86% of Obama voters identified Palin spending $150,000 on clothes.

-86.9 % of Obama voters said that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house” (she never said this).

-57.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say which party controls congress.

-82.6% of Obama voters could not correctly say Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot

-88.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket

-56.1% of Obama voters didn’t know that Obama started his political career at the home of Bill Ayers.

Nice to see we have such an educated electorate.  Also, much thanks to the main stream media for doing such a great job in investigative journalism and non-partisan reporting!

Gay Marriage

November 16, 2008

You know, I am not for gay marriage however I also don’t think that Govco needs to be involved in marriage period.  I am not for any sort of amendment for or against gay marriage.  In fact, I don’t think Govco should be in the business licensing marriage at all.  Stay out of my bedroom and out of my life!

That being said, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick and tired of hearing the whining, bitching and moaning from all of Hollywood on the new Proposition 8 ban against gay marriage that was passed, BY THE VOTERS, this month.  Here are some winner quotes:

Penn:  “It was a shameful decision that was made.”

Ethridge “I am not a full citizen.”

Aguilera: “I don’t understand how people can be so closed-minded and so judgmental. We chose an African-American president who means so much in a time in history of great change and open-mindedness. Why is this any different?”    [I wonder if she even voted]

Hey!  The people have spoken!  Deal with it!!  You can’t have it both ways (although, I am sure many in Hollywood like it that way but, hey, I don’t get into peoples bedrooms).  Either you support the democratic process that gave the White House to Obama, for example, or you don’t.   These are the same Hollywood idiots like Sheryl Crow and the Dixie Chicks who cry about censorship and shout about freedom of speech.  Well, welcome to democracy.  Sometimes you don’t get everything you want.

Can we get a moratorium on Hollywood for, say 20 years?  Not on the movies or TV shows but just on celebrities opening their mouths off screen.

30 year bailout?

November 12, 2008

So, now it’s the auto industry we have to “help”.  Although I distain it, the bailout of the banks and such is almost acceptable since this has been brewing for only the past five or so years but the auto industry?  We have been watching their decline for the past 30 years.  My gosh, when the truck gives you so much time to get out of the way and you just stand there, you deserve to get hit.

There are many reasons for the failing of Detroit.  From not making cars that Americans want to mismanagement but the one reason that they are dying…the crystal clear answer is one word:

UNIONS

Democrat = Socialist

November 11, 2008

Not buying it?  Check out this quote from Virginia Democrat Congressman Jim Moran:

We have been guided by a Republican administration who believes in the simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitled to keep it and they have an antipathy towards means of redistributing wealth.  And they may be able to sustain that for a while, but it doesn’t work in the long run.

I have heard people defend Obama and say that we just don’t know what we are talking about.  That the Democrats are not Socialist.  Well, you can’t get more Socialist than that.  Maybe Mr. Moran needs to read some of Thomas Jefferson:

“To take from one because it is thought that his own industry and that of his father’s has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association–‘the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.'”

Quote of the YEAR

November 6, 2008

Ann Coulter:

“For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.”

Nice.

Thanks Republicans

November 5, 2008

Thanks for tossing your principles out the window.  For leaving your Conservative roots.   For getting drunk on Washington power and compromising with Liberals.  For trying to be the medias friend.  For refusing to veto any sort of pork bill.  For forgetting what put you in the majority in the first place.  For being Republicans in name only.

Thank you.  You deserve this loss.  See you in eight years.

Free gas and mortgages!

November 4, 2008

It’s comments like these that scare me.  These people actually believe that Obama or Govco is going to be some sort of savior.  That and the fact that obviously she doesn’t understand personal responsibility.

Thing is, this is what Democrats believe.  Govco should solve all your problems and do everything for you.  It’s Socialism and it’s coming to a White House near you.
