Quote of the day

Ann Coulter:

“When liberals start acting like they’re opposed to pre-marital sex and mothers having careers, you know McCain’s vice presidential choice has knocked them back on their heels.”

As much as I hate, under any circumstances, to agree with the vile woman you quoted, I will say that I find the media discussion of Sarah Palin’s daughter highly inappropriate. It’s a highly private matter and has nothing to do with whether or not Mrs. Palin is qualified to be Vice President. If they want to discuss her politics, fine. Her family, like everyone’s, should be off limits.

I agree…EXCEPT when they interject themselves in the campaign. Remember when Obama whined about the attacks on his wife? Well, his wife was out there campaigning for him and was attacking the right. If you are putting yourself out there, on the political battlefied, you are fair game. But, when it comes to little kids and those out of the limelight, yeah, I agree.

this is a million years old but i was reading your archives (a little unwinding before bed) and i felt like chiming in. i agree with you. once the family member puts themselves out there, they’re fair game. until then, though, and ESPECIALLY if they’re a child (which bristol palin is, regardless of the mistakes she may have made), they should be left alone.
