Obama – Perot

I found this political cartoon from the 1992 campaign in one of my old files.  It is right on the money concerning the Ross Perot campaign AND the current Obama campaign.  Just like old Ross, Obama has attracted a sort of cult following.  People dropping everything andhaving these orgasms over him.  They are hanging on every word he says but the funny thing is, just like Ross, he doesn’t really say ANYTHING.  People run around saying things like “Hope!” and “Change!” but nothing of real substance.  Again, just like Perot, they claim that Obama is an outsider who will do things differently and change Washington for the better but they never say how, they never ask why andthey don’t understand that really, he is no different from anyone else over on the Liberal side.

These same people think that Obama is the 2nd coming of Jimmy Carter and that THAT is a good thing.

Yes, this cartoon could be re-done, just replace Perot with Obama.

I would not compare Perot and Obama too much. The big difference is in the money; Obama has to raise it via his cult following while Perot has to write a check. I still think there is a great deal of work that must go into campaigns. Oh, Perot is a 3rd Party member; he had no chance.

True. I was mostly comparing their lack of really saying anything of substance yet attractiing such a cult following.

  3. Edward Carson Says:

I will agree with you on that point.

  4. Robert Throckmorton Says:

Do you mean that Obama doesn’t propose any policies? If so, you’re wrong. He’s actually proposed several, and in some depth!
