“…in history.”

Can we PLEASE get a moratorium on this saying?  I am so sick of hearing things such as:

“He’s the greatest golfer/basketball/football player in history.”

“It’s the most patriotic wedding in history.”

“She’s the best this or that in history.”

First of all, the saying in and of itself is so overused it’s pathetic.  Secondly, you can’t compare somethings.  I mean, to say, for example, Tiger Woods is the best golfer in history is impossible to judge.  Ben Hogan didn’t have the same equipment that Tiger does.  Some of the technology wasn’t invented yet.

I don’t know…we here on the staff are just sick of it.
