More Wuss

June 30, 2008

So, still codling your children?  Still making sure that little Bobbie or Susie are not getting negative feedback at school?  Give me a break!  I wrote about this before and then again concerning over protective parents and you know, it’s just gotten worse:

-In Japan, in a school play, there were 25 Snow Whites, no dwarfs and no wicked witch.  Don’t want to single out any precious child to play the lead role!

-In Sweden, a kid had to take back his birthday invitations because he didn’t invite everyone in class.

Instead of a moratorium on the wussification of America, let’s just have a day of beating idiot Liberal parents for their foolishness.

Flip, Flop and Flip again

June 30, 2008

The left just can’t seem to get it straight in regards to military experience.  First, back in 1992, when the Republicans would hold up George Bush’s military record against Clinton’s draft dodging record, the left cried and bitched and moaned that you don’t have to have served to be President.  They went on and on that simply serving does NOT entitle you to be President.

In 2004 they went on and on and on about John Kerry and his military experience.  Dan Rather even went so far as to try to bring a sitting President down with fake documents about Bush.  Every chance, John Kerry would make sure people knew he was a Vet.  On and on and on the left went about how John Kerry and his military experience entitled him to the White House.  This was a complete change from 1992.

Now, in 2008, they are actually attacking John McCain and his military service.  I guess now it’s “yeah, McCain served but didn’t do that much.”  Check out these idiot quotes from Wesley Clark:

The retired general Wesley Clark said McCain had not “held executive responsibility” and had not commanded troops in wartime.

“He hasn’t been there and ordered the bombs to fall”

Huh.  Ok.  Tell me Wesley, has Obama done any of that?  Not that I’m a big fan of McCain, I just love pointing out how hypocritical these Liberals are.

So, these Liberals just can’t decide on what they want.  Do you need military experience or not?  Is having military experience a good or bad thing?  Typical Liberals – It’s ok for me, but not for you.

This is priceless.  Simply priceless:

Gun Ownership

June 26, 2008

Whew!!!  I was a bit worried about the Supreme Court decision today due to Kennedy and the last few but, thankfully, the logical, intelligent justices made sure the constitution was followed and upheld.  I find it hard to believe that the other four sought to rewrite it.

Look what Justice Stephen Breyer wrote:

“The decision threatens to throw into doubt the constitutionality of gun laws throughout the United States.”

WHAT?  Oh, so if a state decided it would censor newspapers from printing certain things that were negative towards the government or if they banned a certain religion would he say that?   So, the bill of rights, the first 10 amendments, all deal with limiting Govco EXCEPT for the 2nd amendment?  Come on!  If this decision does not show just how much the Liberals think of the consitution, I don’t know what does.  “Living document” my ass!

Can we get a moratorium on the people who keep thinking that more Govco and less individual rights is the answer!

Frog meet boiling pot

June 26, 2008

You know, I don’t agree with Rush Limbaugh on everything however, when someone gets it right, you have to give them credit.  He is always using the frog in the boiling pot of water or the slippery slope analogy to describe certain things.  Many of which were for global warming.  Many times he would make outlandish predictions about what would happen if we kept letting this global warming nonsense to take hold.  He was right:

Ban on drive-thru businesses due to global warming.

Now, isn’t that nice?  I tell ya, the more we let this hoax, this madness go on, the more we are going to see our freedom, our rights taken away.  The more we elect and re-elect these idiot liberals who back this garbage, the worst it will get.

Y’all helped on the Hillary thing so let’s get the word out that we are calling for a moratorium on global warming nonsense.

Aaaahhhhh…the good ol’ days!

Nothing better than a good smoke!  Check out this great old commercial.

Balding men

June 25, 2008

Just cut it short!!!  You see these guys all the time.  They are just trying to hold on to what they have left.  They do the comb over, the comb forward, the earmuff style or the classic frontal mohawk.  It looks STUPID!!!  Now, we here on the staff are not saying that these men need to shave their heads (unless they like that look which isn’t bad) but just to get their hair cut short.  Go with a buzz cut.  Everyone knows you’re losing it, quit trying to hide it!!!  Just cut it short.

I work with a guy who has the reverse mohawk going.  Thing is, he still has a little patch up at the front of his head…that he lets grow out.  It’s this little tuft of hair.  Just buzz it off for goodness sake!!  Sheesh!  You can always grow it back on your face since, as we all know, most bald men wear goatees.

Can we get a moratorium on this?

The Race Card

June 23, 2008

Well, it was predictable.  Obama played the race card:

“We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run.  They’re going to try to make you afraid.  They’re going to try to make you afraid of me.  (laughter)  They’re gonna…. They’re going to say, “You know what, he’s — he’s — he’s young, inexperienced, and, uh, uh, he’s got a funny name.  Did I mention he’s black? “

Nice, huh?  Now, any criticism of him is going to be deemed racial. Funny though in that it was the Democrats who first started using the race card with him.  From the LA times saying he was not “black” enough to Bill Clinton playing the card during the primary in NC to Joseph Biden saying Obama was clean and articulate.

I guess maybe I should have did a moratorium on this a while back but can we please have a moratorium on playing the race card, Mr. Obama, during this campaign?

June 23, 2008

In a recent news report, Americans donated another record.  $306 BILLION was given to charity in 2007.  Nice, huh?  That is a record.  Here are some notes of interest:

– Over half ($229 billion) was given by individuals earning in the top 10% of U.S. Incomes.  The very same top 10% that Liberals want to tax to death.  The very same top 10% that is portrayed as evil by the media.

– Over $15 billion from corporations.  The same corporations that are ripped apart for being greedy.  The same corporations that people like Obama want to throw a “windfall profit” tax on.

I say all this to show, yet again, why Govco needs to stop taking money from us, by force, and giving it to others.  Quite frankly, I’m sick of it.  Our Constitution does not allow for it yet, thanks to folks like LBJ, we now have legalized theft by our own Govco.  People like Mark Elrod, Larry James, Obama and other Liberals are all for this kind of theft even though time and time again it is shown that charity operates much better when done privately.  The noted economist Walter Williams says it well in this quote:

“Charity is reaching into one’s own pockets to assist his fellow man in need. Reaching into someone else’s pocket to assist one’s fellow man hardly qualifies as charity. When done privately, we deem it theft, and the individual risks jail time.”

Once again, we call for a moratorium on Govco forcing us to give.

No Drill Democrats

June 18, 2008

Do I even need to write anything?  Doesn’t the title say it all?

The hardworking staff here at the Moratorium site are all calling for a moratorium on the Liberals who refuse to drill for our own oil here in the United States.

Of course though, Mark Elrod is against it.  No surprise there.  He states it won’t have much affect on prices.  Hmmmmm…..from what I found, several people, economists for example, have stated that even just the lifting of the ban, not even beginning to drill, would have an affect on prices.  Ever notice how an announcement of a CEO retiring has an affect on the markets?  This would have the same affect.  Elrod would much rather quote from Democratic sources then real, honest ones.  Although, to be fair, this is the same teacher who said the Berlin Wall would never come down in our lifetime.

He has some good quotes from a non-biased AP article.  Check these out:

“Democrats also argued additional offshore drilling would not affect prices set on the world market.”

Well, if that is the case, why do they want to nationalize the US oil companies?

How about this one:

Florida Democratic Party spokesman Mark Bubriski: “It would only increase oil companies’ record-breaking profits.”

Funny…I wonder if this guy, or Elrod for that matter, can tell the difference between a net profit, gross profit and profit margin.  Also, what the hell is wrong with profits?  You know, I think Elrod gets paid waaaaaay too much from Harding University.  Maybe Govco needs to get involved and cut his salary.  How about it?  What is really funny about this AP article is that it talks about the beauty of Florida being ruined and they also throw the scare tactic in there about what if there is a oil leak…the beaches will get ruined!!  How many leaks were there from the offshore drilling when Katrina hit?  Did you know that the oil rigs would not even be able to be seen from the beach?

Anyway, I find it very funny that one of the arguments that Elrod throws up there is that the ban on drilling would not produce much oil.  You know what….maybe we shouldn’t try to arrest all the car theives out there.  I mean, we are not going to get them all…so why even try?  What an absurd argument.  It’s something!!  Anything would help.  Plus, many economists have stated that this WILL help the cost of gas. It will help bring down the price of oil.

How about this quote:

Eric Draper, policy director for Audubon of Florida, said it would take 10 years to produce energy from new offshore leases even if exploration started now.

Funny, Bill Clinton said the same things……10 years ago!! If we had started then, we would have the oil now.

All of this is yet another example of the Liberal mindset on how the U.S. should not be number one and great.  They have no issue with China and everyone else drilling off the U.S. shores…just the United States.

Really though, what do you expect from Elrod.  He still thinks that the Carter Presidency was the greatest in history.

Walter Williams made a great point today.  You hear Obama and other Liberals crying that even if we start to drill in the U.S. now, it won’t affect prices now.  This is such a ruse.  As I pointed out before, many economists are saying that even the announcement that we are going to start drilling will bring prices down (just as announcements from CEO’s affect the market).  Anyway, Williams gave an example of if we announced offshore/Alaska drilling today, OPEC and others will know that in, say five years the U.S. will have more oil supply and thus, prices will fall due to supply and demand.  These same people will now want to sell as much oil as possible at $130 a barrel rather than $100 (or less) five years from now so they will sell much more now.  As they are selling much more now, that will, in turn, drive prices down.  So, you will have a two fold effect.  You will see prices go down over the next few months AND you will see prices go down again once we are up and running with new wells.

Funny…I remember learning this basic stuff 20 years ago in college.  Why have idiots like Obama not learned it?
