April 30, 2008

Ok, site plug.  I came across this site and just had to blog about it.  Men who look like old lesbians.  LOL.

Voter ID

April 29, 2008

The Supreme Court today gave a huge boost to cutting down on voter fraud.  I applaud their decision.  What I found so amusing was this quote from Ken Falk, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.  He was very upset with the decision.  When the case was first taken up by the high court, Falk was quoted as saying “There’s no right more important than the right to vote”

Really?  The “right” to vote?  Kenny, can you please direct me to that part of our great Constitution that actually gives a right to vote?

Again, can we get a moratorium on these “right to vote” people?

Forced Charity

April 29, 2008

Our old buddy at Harding University gave me the idea for this post.  It’s something I have brought up before and something that truly needs a moratorium.  That being forced charity.  We are forced to give up our hard earned money every day to “help” others.  That help may entail things you don’t agree with.  Doesn’t matter.  You are forced to give.  By whom you ask?  You friendly neighborhood Govco.  Every day they take tax dollars from you and give it to others.  The noted Economist Walter E. Williams illustrates it well:

“If I take $20 from you by force and help somebody downtown who is sleeping on a grate, if I do this privately, I go to jail and most Americans agree that I should go to jail. But when an agent of Congress comes up and takes your $20 and helps somebody downtown, they applaud that. Both acts are taking what belongs to one American and giving it to another American to whom it does not belong.”

Now, let me make it perfectly clear, I am ALL for charity.  I am all for helping others.  Privately.  Now, of course, there are many out there, most notably Liberals, who believe that any sort of assistance or help should come from Govco which means YOUR taxes.  They will say things such as “The Government can do it best.” or “Private citizens or organizations cannot do it all.”  Really?  Gee…is that why private giving far exceeds what Govco gives?  Is that why US citizens give more to charity than citizens of any other country?

Let’s look at an example.  Remember the tsunami from 2004?  Private charities and individuals gave three times as much as the US Govco to help those in need.  Yet, what do you hear?  You heard how the US didn’t give enough.  You hear every day how we are greedy and stingy and don’t care.  You hear from people like Obama and Hillary how Govco can do it better.    Please!  Get off your high horse.

Now, what does this have to do with our psudo-intellectual teacher Mark Elrod?  Here is a quote from his latest blog:

“It seems to me that if America were in fact the Christian nation we claim to be that there would be no need for government welfare or foreign aid.”

I beleive I have already made my point that there IS no need for Govco welfare or foreign aid.  We, as private citizens and private charities already do far more than Govco could every hope to do.  We do it with our own money and, more importantly, do it with other things such as time, compassion and organization.  Let’s see, Govco…compassion….organization….yeah, those words go together as well as Microsoft Works or French Deodorant.  In the time it takes you to fill out the forms (in triplicate) to get any sort of assistance from Govco, a private charity will already have you taken care of.  In fact, we, as a nation, would probably give much, much more if we were not taxed so much.  If we didn’t have our paychecks garnished so heavily by Uncle Sam.  If we had more to give, we would give even more.

We are, contrary to what Mr. Elrod states, a giving nation.  Do we all give?  Nope.  Do we give enough?  Nope.  Should we be forced to give?  Never.

Attention Hounds

April 24, 2008

We all know one.  You usually work with one.  The attention hounds.  They have to always be throwing out the “Hi!  How are you?” to the boss, even though he is across the room.  Now, don’t confuse these people with “Brown Nosers”.  There is a difference.  These people simply want attention from anyone or anything.  All day long it’s “Like me…please…like me!!!!”

Let’s get a moratorium on these people.

Humans and Nature

April 20, 2008

I was watching this show on TV…Beach Patrol or something like that where drunks get busted by the Police.  Yeah, I know but there was nothing else on!  Anyway, they found a wounded seal that had a huge shark bite however, per the law, they could not do anything because the law forbids “interfering with nature.”  Yellowstone park has a similar restriction so, as in one show I caught, if there is a baby bison that falls through the ice and cannot get back up, you are not to try to help it all.  You must let nature take it’s course.

Um…excuse me but…aren’t WE a part of nature?  Isn’t man as much a part of this world as the deer and the antelope?  What..are they saying that man actually doesn’t belong here on earth?  What a bunch of crap!

Now, I love to backpack and I do understand not leaving liter and such however, some of the signs you see even on the trails talk about leaving it as if man has not touched it.  Hey!  We did.  We are.  We are part of nature, sorry to say to all you extreme wackjobs out there.  There are some people who even pack out their waste and I ain’t talking about a candy wrapper.  When will these people learn that Man was here first?

Calling for a moratorium on the Earth First crowd.  You know…Earth first and the human species second?

Socialism

April 19, 2008

“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”

Can this statement by Michelle Obama be any more socialist?  Is there any doubt where she and her husband stand in regards to America? In regards to true freedom?  In regards to Capitalism?  I think it’s clear where they stand.  Sounds like she and John Lennon have MUCH in common.

Tigerorgasm

April 12, 2008

I’m sick today so I am forced to watch whatever I can find on TV.  Without cable, there’s not much.  I did get to watch some Hockey so that was nice but when that was over I started watching The Masters.  Here is what I got out of 2 hour of watching this:  Tiger Woods is the only golfer out there.  These announcers just about crap their pants every time they talk about Tiger and, of course, they always “go back to” Tiger.  Even though, currently he is in 4th place and really has not had the best weekend.  There is a bit of coverage on Brandt Snedeker, making his first profession Masters apperance but it’s nothing compared to the orgasms that abound with Tiger.  Here are a few quotes from the commentators:

“Tiger is in a good position to win his 5th Green Jacket.”

Yeah, and so is Snedeker to win his first…PLUS, he is ahead of Tiger!

“Tiger has a good shot here to move up the rankings to capture first place.:”

Yeah, and so do several other guys!

Pathetic.  It’s similar to the Obamagasm except that Tiger Woods has actually done something and is not just running off his Charisma.  AND, he still may actually win that 5th jacket…but there are other players out there!

While I’m at it, let’s not only have a moratorium on the Tigerorgasms (has he ever come to your town for a PGA tournament?  When he comes to my city, the news media go bananas and even report when he passes gas.  Seriously) but let’s also get one on The Masters coverage.  They treat it like the 2nd coming.  CBS with their classical music and the Caddies with their bio hazard jump suits.   What a bore.  I mean, it’s a good tournament, but it would be equally as good if they would stop trying to be so aloof about it.  As I would say as a kid, they think they are hot crap on a silver platter but they are really cold diarrhea on a paper plate!

*Update:  Well, today, Sunday, Tiger is not doing so hot.  He is about in 5th place yet the commentators still are discussing exactly what Tiger needs to do to win.  Not one single mention about what anyone else has to do to win.  Also, they keep commenting on how worn out Tiger looks and that it’s probably because he is not playing that good and what an ordeal it is to have to go thru.  Oh, poor, poor pitiful Tiger.  This dove tails into something else.  You watch Tiger after ever shot today, whether good or bad and he looks so upset.  So annoyed and angry.  Contrast that with Snedeker.  He is having a blast.  Even after a shot that almost gets in the hole but doesn’t he laughs and has a big grin on his face.  He really looks like he is having fun.  Which he should because, after all, it is only a GAME!  I mean, it’s not like if Tiger loses he won’t be able to feed his family or anything.  What a turd.  I can see what these past few days are leading to on the Moratorium page….I have a vision….I see…more moratoriums on Tiger Woods and the orgasmic, bed wetting “fans” that follow him.

Gum Chewing

April 9, 2008

Can we get a moratorium on people who don’t know the proper etiquette on how to friggin’ chew their gum?  First, you don’t constantly pop your gum.  Secondly, you don’t constantly blow bubbles and then pop them.  Third, you CHEW WITH YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!  Last, if you must do all of these things, don’t do it in the work place, esspecially when you sit in close proximity to someone else.

Case closed.

CEO Compensation

April 9, 2008

So now Senator McCain wants in on the act of Govco determining what Executive compensation should be.  Or, to be exact, how much is too much.  What a crock of fertalizer!  Here are a few of his great quotes:

“I think it is unconscionable when the guy who is the head of Countrywide and his co-conspirators make huge amounts of money when Americans face the threat of losing their homes.”

Once again, I must ask, WHAT business is it of Govco how much someone in the private sector makes?  Hey! Angry old man!  I think it is unconscionable that Govco is going to help out people who get in trouble because they buy things they can’t afford.

Here is another brain buster:

“If there’s ways we can motivate shareholders and boards of directors to punish these people we should do it…”

Gee, that sounds very fimilar…..

Hillary

April 4, 2008

natalie

I know over the past year I have called for a moratorium on Hillary time and time and time again however, if she can continue to give us photos like this, even I might be inclined to vote for her.
