Jersey Wearers

October 6, 2007

Jersey

I can’t stand ‘em!  Those people who wear a certain Jersey either with a big ‘R’ or big ‘D’ on it.  The people who are so blinded by their jersey that their mind slowly closes and they refuse to even listen to other ideas.  It’s enough to make you want to write a blog about it!!

Now, I’m talking about both sides here.  Yes, I know, I rip Liberals all the time in my blog however, if you take the time to read, you will notice I really don’t have many good things to say about the GOP or about President Bush.  I try to be as open minded as I can.  I am, or try to be, as true to a real Conservative as possible.  Sadly, not many in the GOP are conservative these days.  Also, there are just so many things to make fun of Liberals on that I tend to blog about that more.  :)

Seriously though, those people who are so critical of a Republican President then when their side does the same thing, you don’t hear a peep out of them.   Those kind of people lose all creditability when they do things like that.  A great example is the Feminist movement.  They are so blinded by the big ‘D’ on their chests that when Bill Clinton did things and was accused of things that, in other times, when send them out, knives raised, screaming their lungs out, they were conveniently quiet…all because it was a Liberal and not a Conservative who was under fire.  Conservatives are not much better.  Things that President Bush has done, that they would be going crazy over if it were a Democrat, they don’t say a word about.  Like I said, it happens on both sides (however, due to the extreme slant in the media, it is more easy to point out how much it happens with the Left).

The media is another example.  You have all these groups out there who cry and whine and moan about Fox News and their Conservative slant yet where is the moaning about CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC who are so far to the left it’s not even funny? You don’t hear a peep…because of the jersey.  Speaking of the media, folks like Sean Hannity just make me want to puke with how big the ‘R’ is on his chest.   Limbaugh is another (but at least he can be funny).  Ann Coulter as well but not as bad a Limbaugh and Hannity.  Of course, on the Left you have just about everyone else in the media.  I do enjoy Neal Boortz though as he takes swipes at both sides.

I feel really sorry for those kids on college campuses with the professors who lean so far one way or another and actually teach that way.   Dr. Mark Elrod at Harding University is one of those.  He has a blog that a friend of mine turned me on to.  The sad thing is, it is all one sided.  Only Liberal.  If you try to post a legitimate argument, if it makes sense and actually refutes what he wrote, he refuses to post it.  If you try to take a shot (a clean shot I might add) at a liberal – say a silly joke – he will not post it but has no problem posting ones about the GOP.   There are too many instances to bring up when he posted something negative about the GOP when the exact same thing was going on or had happened on the Left.   Sure, it’s his site and he can do what he wants but this is a Political Science Professor!!  You would think he would be open minded and actually want to engage his students in free flowing thought and debate.  Can you imagine being in his classroom?  From what I have heard, it’s the same thing.  He shuts you down when you try to bring up any sort of hypocrisy on the left or from him.  He is so blinded by his jersey that he refuses to even listen to any other argument.   By the way, this is the same professor who once said:

“I’m a Democrat because I believe that party has a better track record on two things I believe in very strongly: tolerance and free expression.”

Sorry…the milk is spewing out of my nose I am laughing so hard at that quote from him.  I wonder, does he also teach hypocrisy 101?  John Leo has a great article  that you should take some time to read on free speech on college campuses.

I give a lot of credit for those folks who do a 360 degree eye poking.  Those who can take the jersey off and actually call a spade a spade.    Neal Boortz, as I said, is one.  Juan Williams with NPR actually does a pretty good job from time to time.  Bill O’Reilly is ok but he is such a jackass that I can’t listen to him.    There are others out there in print and on TV or the radio who at least try to hit both sides.  They try to take the jersey off.  I try to here as well.

Anyway, let’s get a moratorium on jersey’s and get some more open minds out there.

Dittoheads gushing over Rush

March 7, 2007

I listen to Rush just about every day.  I enjoy him a whole lot less then I used to back 10 to 15 years ago.  He carries the water for the GOP  way too much.  He lost his true Conservative principals long ago when he first became such good friends with George H Bush.  Now he is just a mouthpiece for the GOP instead of for Conservatives.  I mostly listen to him now for news tidbits you don’t hear in the mainstream as well as for the humor.  He does have knack for pointing out the hypocrisy and idiotic schemes of the Liberals and he has great parodies as well.  All in all he is good for about 2 hours a day.  By the third hour I am tired of him.

This post is not, however, a moratorium on Rush.  No.  Quite the contrary.  Now, if you don’t listen to Rush you probably won’t get this one so just skip it.  This moratorium is on Dittoheads gushing over Rush.

  •  ”Hey! Mega Dittos Rush. I just want to thank you for all you have done for this country.  You have pulled it back from the brink of disaster.”
  • “Rush!  OMIGOSH! I am just so humbled to be talking to you!”
  • “Dittos Rush.  I got my Dad to listen to you right before he died.  We had a falling out a few years ago and, Rush, it was you and your show that brought us back together before he died” (No lie.  This one really happened about 2 weeks ago).
  • “Rush!  This country owes you a debt of gratitude for (“sniff”) saying what needs to be said and heard.  (“Sob!”) You just don’t know how much you have meant to me these past 10 years.”
  • “Rush! You are so awesome!  I can’t believe I’m talking to you.  You mean the world to me.  Thank you! Thank you! Thank YOU!  Oh!  Rush!  Keep on keeping on!”
  • “Mega Dittos!  Thank you so much Rush for not being afraid to stand up to these Liberals.  Rush, you are a true American Hero and I just want to tell you how dark these times would be without your lone voice out there urging us to stand and fight against the hordes of darkness.  Thank you so much Rush for not giving up.”

Yeah, I could go on and on but you get my point.  It’s sickening.  You know, talk radio owes a huge debt of gratitude to Rush for getting that medium to where it is today….but please!  Just say thank you and be done with it!!  He takes a crap just like everyone else does!!!

Anti Wal-Mart People

February 28, 2007

walmart.jpg

I just don’t understand it.  Why do people have such a beef with Wal-Mart?  It really bothers me.  Now, I’m not talking of the people who don’t want it near their home.  I sorta understand that (but if it was a Target, these same people would, many times, be just fine with it) to a degree but what bugs the heck out of me are all these Commie Socialists out there.  They demand Wal-Mart have a union or they want to ban Wal-Mart from the city.  They demand Wal-Mart increase their hourly wage or that they increase their prices so not to drive their competition out of business.  Do we live in a free country?  Do we have a capitalist system or not?  Give me a break!

Let’s take a look at a few of these arguments.  A union? Please.  Unions are what is driving American Car makers out of business.  If you think you get bad service at Wal-Mart now (which you usually do), don’t expect it to get any better with a union.  Plus, why should they?  I love the story of the guy paid by a labor union to protest Wal-mart.  He was paid $6.00/hour with no benefits to protest Wal-Mart employees making $10.17/hour with benefits.  Classic!

How about wages?  Wal-Mart pays more than many other retail outlets.  Maybe not the most but if you don’t like it, don’t work there.  How many stories have you seen where a new Wal-Mart opened somewhere and they had 2000 job openings and 10,000 people applied?  It happens all the time.    Since when did higher wages and company paid health insurance become a right?

Check out this quote from some anti site: “In our America, corporations live up to their responsibility and provide their employees with adequate and affordable health care coverage. “

What????  What “responsibility?”  How about YOUR OWN responsibility buddy?  Why is it your companies job to make sure you have health insurance?

This one you hear all the time: “Wal-Mart is driving the Mom and Pop stores in downtown out of business!”.  Really?  Wal-Mart is?  How are they doing that?  If the customers of Mom and Pop never shop at Wal-Mart and continue to go to Mom and Pop, would Mom and Pop die?  No way.  It would be Wal-Mart that would go under.  So, you see, it is the customers that ultimately close Mom and Pop, not Wal-Mart.

I’m not going to sit here and say that Wal-Mart is squeaky clean.  They have been caught on some issues and their service is usually poor.  Their stores are usually messy as well.  I KNOW THAT.  I don’t go there expecting wonderful service or pristine end caps but hey, bottom line is the price.  I will wait in line a bit longer and have to endure the redneck behind me and her screaming kids if I can get that G.I. Joe with the kung fu grip for $10.00 cheaper than Target.

The Wal-Mart story is a Capitalists dream.  I guess some people (Liberals usually) just can’t stand success.

We need a 10 year moratorium on Wal-Mart whiners.

Asking Questions

February 21, 2007

Why is it when you ask questions about something it is automatically viewed in the negative by so many?  Have a question about the war in Iraq?  You don’t support the troops and don’t love America.  Question a Police shooting?  You must hate the Police.  Question authority? You are a trouble maker.  I’m really sick of this.   Unless we want to live in a dictatorship, questions need to happen.  We need to be asking questions then questioning the answers.  I have seen far too many times where an elected official gets all upset when his policies are questioned.  They must be hiding something if they don’t like you asking questions.

Can we please have a moratorium on ripping on someone who is simply asking honest questions?  Oh, and when you get an answer don’t be like the stupid reporters of the Washington Press Corp who ask the same question again once they get an answer.

This moratorium is in two halves.  The second part of it is ASKING questions.  I am sick of Liberal reporters constantly asking question after question after question to Conservatives but Liberals…just little softballs with no follow up.  Can someone point to me an instance when Hillary was asked any hard hitting questions?  Please..someone show me one interview where she got the kinds of questions that the President gets.  Bottom line is she doesn’t.

So, let’s also have a moratorium on more questions being asked…fast pitch hardball ones.

Class Envy

February 18, 2007

“Today, under George W. Bush, there are two Americas, not one: One America that does the work, another that reaps the reward. One America that pays the taxes, another America that gets the tax breaks. One America – middle-class America – whose needs Washington has long forgotten, another America – narrow-interest America – whose every wish is Washington’s command. One America that is struggling to get by, another America that can buy anything it wants, even a Congress and a president.”

That quote is from John Edwards. Just exactly who is he talking about? One America that pays the taxes? The NY Times, hardly a conservative rag, stated that in 2004 “The top 1% of income earners paid about 36.7% of federal income taxes.” and “By contrast, families in the bottom 40% of income earners, incomes below $36,300, typically paid no federal income tax and received money back from the government.” John, I hate to break it to you but it’s the rich, not the poor, who pays the taxes.

One America struggling to get by? Gee John, I guess you sure are struggling…

photos

That is the Edwards home. 28,000 sqft on 102 acres. That “barn” has living quarters, a handball court, an indoor pool and an indoor basketball court with a stage at one end. The home currently has a value over 4 million and is by far the largest and most expensive home in the county. Yes John, you’re right when you say “…another America that can buy anything it wants…” You’re living in “that America”. Gee, I wonder why Edwards had to go all the way down to New Orleans and stand in front of a destroyed home to annouce his bid for the White House.

John Edwards is a perfect example of the class warfare I am sick of. Liberals love to pit one class against another. They love to point out how horrible it is when someone makes money…except for Liberals. It’s fine for them to make money (and give it to the Democratic Party). Lately they have been talking about CEO’s and how much money they make. Even Bush has jumped on that band wagon. Why? What does it matter how much a CEO makes? I don’t begrudge anyone making money legally. Maybe someday, with enough hard work, I can be one of the “rich” that liberals so despise. It’s all about making people jealous and envious of one class then pointing out that class is backing Republicans so you should vote Democrat.

Remember as well, the rich didn’t earn money. They either inherited it or, as Richard Gephardt termed it, the top “have won life’s lottery.” Liberals love to use rhetoric like this to move their class envy along even though fewer than 2% of of millionaires in the US inherited their fortune. They never talk about people who work hard and earn money and move up and make more money. To them, income is not earned and it should be distributed. Hillary talks this way as well and it smacks of Socialism.  Just take a look at the quote from Hillary in my profit post.

I have no problem with Edwards buying that house. What I do take issue with is his constant bashing of wealthy American’s, his talk of the evil CEO and “Big Oil” profits and his whole “two America’s” take on things when it is obvious, as Jay Leno points out, “Well, I think we know which America he’s living in,”.

Bottom line is, we need a good moratorium on people playing the wealth envy/class warfare card.

Idiots

February 9, 2007

No, this one is not a moratorium on idiots.  It’s a moratorium on Govco not letting you be one!    We live in the United States of America where we used to enjoy so much freedom.  Sadly, it is being taken away daily.  No longer do we have the right to be stupid.  Don’t want to wear your seatbelt and be an idiot?  Sorry, it’s against the law.  Maybe you want to be really annoying and use your cell phone while driving.  Forget it.  Want to open a resturant and have smoking be an option? Sorry.  Here is the latest ban.  They want to take away your right to cross the street while listening to your I-pod or talking on your cell phone.

Carl Kruger, a Democrat (which the article fails to point out) is the one proposing this in NY.  Here is a quote from him – “While people are tuning into their iPods and cell phones, they’re tuning out the world around them,” .

Know what?  OH WELL!!!  Are they soon going to ban guys from turning their heads while checking out hot chicks walking down the road?  You thought that Seinfeld was funny? You won’t when they make it illegal to check out Sue Ellen Mischke wearing only a bra.

How stupid is this?  VERY.  Sad thing is that many American’s will accept it and not open their windows and yell out “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!”.  Govco continues to slowly take our rights away.  They have become the parents for us now.  They know what is right.  Not you.

Global Warming

February 8, 2007

algore

Can you believe how frantic the Left has gotten in regards to Global Warming?  As I said below, now some scientists are saying that no matter what we do, things will get nothing but worse for the next 1000 years.  I am sick of hearing only ONE side of this debate.  Well, you can’t even call it a debate anymore since some on the Left (Barbara Boxer, Al Gore) are saying that the talking is done.  It’s fact.  In fact, some are saying we need to muzzle those who don’t believe it or strip them of their credentials.  They call those who don’t buy into it “deniers”.

Many folks have brought up excellent points in this how debacle.  Michael Crichton wrote an excellent novel on this called State of Fear where he provides actual facts in novel form.  I highly recommend it.  Neal Boortz laid out many of the facts very clearly:

·        Many of the loudest proponents of man-made global warming today are confirmed anti-capitalists.

·        Because the sun is warmer .. and all of these scientists don’t seem to be willing to credit a warmer sun with any of the blame for global warming.

·        The polar ice caps on Mars are melting. How did our CO2 emissions get all the way to Mars?

·        It was warmer in the 1930s across the globe than it is right now.

·        It wasn’t all that long ago that these very same scientists were warning us about “global cooling” On July 24, 1974 Time Magazine published an article entitled “Another Ice Age?” Here’s the first paragraph:   “As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.”

·        How much has the earth warmed up in the last 100 years? One degree. Now that’s frightening.

·        Because that famous “hockey stick” graph that purports to show a sudden warming of the earth in the last few decades is a fraud. It ignored previous warming periods … left them off the graph altogether.

·        The infamous Kyoto accords exempt some of the world’s biggest CO2 polluters, including China and India. The Kyoto accords can easily be seen as nothing less than an attempt to hamstring the world’s dominant capitalist economies.

·        Because many of these scientists who are sounding the global warming scare depend on grant money for their livelihood, and they know the grant money dries up when they stop preaching the global warming sermon.

·        Because global warming “activists” and scientists seek to punish those who have different viewpoints. If you are sure of your science you have no need to shout down or seek to punish those who disagree.

·        What happened to the Medieval Warm Period? In 1996 the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a chart showing climatic change over a period of 1000 years. This graph showed a Medieval warming period in which global temperatures were higher than they are today. In 2001 the IPCC issued another 1000 year graph in which the Medieval warming period was missing. Why?

·        Why has one scientist promoting the cause of man-made global warming been quoted as saying “we have to get rid of the medieval warming period?”

·        Why is the ice cap on the Antarctic getting thicker if the earth is getting warmer?

·        In the United States, the one country with the most accurate temperature measuring and reporting records, temperatures have risen by 0.3 degrees centigrade over the past 100 years. The UN estimate is twice that.

·        There are about 160,000 glaciers around the world. Most have never been visited or measured by man. The great majority of these glaciers are growing, not melting.

·        Side-looking radar interferometry shows that the ice mass in the West Antarctic is growing at a rate of over 26 gigatons a year. This reverses a melting trend that had persisted for the previous 6,000 years.

·        Rising sea levels? The sea levels have been rising since the last ice age ended. That was 12,000 years ago. Estimates are that in that time the sea level has risen by over 300 feet. The rise in our sea levels has been going on long before man started creating anything but natural CO2 emissions.

·        Like Antarctica, the interior of Greenland is gaining ice mass.

·        Over the past 3,000 years there have been five different extended periods when the earth was measurably warmer than it is today.

·        During the last 20 years — a period of the highest carbon dioxide levels — global temperatures have actually decreased. That’s right … decreased.

·        Why did a reporter from National Public Radio refuse to interview David Deming, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma studying global warming, after his testimony to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee unless Deming would state that global warming was being caused by man?

·        Why are global warming proponents insisting that the matter is settled and that no further scientific research is needed? Why are they afraid of additional information?

·        According to Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, there is no such thing as man-made climate change.  He calls the whole thing “the greatest deception in the history of science.”  Is he right?  Who knows…but what happened to the idea of open debate?  This guy is treated by the media and the Left as some sort of global warming denier…a kook who thinks the Earth is still flat.

·      Over 15,000 scientists who have signed a petition expressing their doubts in idea that any global warming we might be experiencing is being caused by man.  That petition says: “We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in yoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind. There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.”

·        Here is the link to his site

Now, do you hear ANY of this in the mainstream media?  Nope.  It’s all about money.  If there was no money involved, there would be no talk to Global Warming at all.  This is the point made in State of Fear as well.  We need a 1000 year moratorium on Global Warming panic.  Notice, I didn’t say on Global Warming.  Just on the panic.  On the misrepresentation.  On the misinformation.  On the silencing of any sort of disagreement.  On Al Gore.  I think it should still be studied, just as ANY sort of weather is studied.  We just don’t need to be lied to or ignored.  We also don’t need to listen to the hypocrites such as Laurie David or Al Gore who tell us we must use less yet they fly around the world in their private jets.

On another note, can you imagine if the GOP were pushing this?  It would be called “scare tactics” by the very same people who are for it.  You know, that’s how we can stop it.  If George Bush got behind ALL the Global Warming crap, the Liberals would run the other way and denounce it!!

Profits

February 6, 2007

Hillary Clinton screaming about the 2006 profits earned by Exxon Mobile:

“The Democrats know what needs to be done.  Again, we’re working trying to try push this agenda forward.  The other day the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world.  I want to take those profits and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative, smart energy; alternatives and technology that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence.”

Ok.  How much more proof do we need that we need not only a muzzle but a moratorium on her?  Since when did profits belong to Govco?  I wonder why she has not called on profits from the NFL or Hollywood to go to some special fund.

It’s called CAPITALISM and it’s something the Democrats hate with a passion.

Misleading and Misrepresentation

February 4, 2007

Nothing bothers me more then when the media misleads someone with a headline or a story.  This is not about the Liberal media (that will be a separate post later on) but just a small footnote on that.  Of course, a footnote is at the bottom but this is my blog and I’ll do it my way and make the footnote before the actual reference.

Take a look at this:

The article states “Global warming sees polar bears stranded on melting ice”.  What a bunch of garbage!  Polar Bears can swim over a hundred miles before even needing a rest.  I know this because not only does this article state it (“Swimming 100 miles is not a big deal for a polar bear, especially a fat one,” said Dr Ian Stirling of the Canadian Wildlife Service”) but also from watching wildlife shows with my kids.  However, if you didn’t bother to read the article and just read the headline and saw the picture you would begin to panic and buy into all this Global Warming crap (another post on that later as well).

Another wonderful note about this article is this:

“Scientists say the survival of polar bears may rely on special conservation areas, but even that seems a forlorn hope with a United Nations report expected to say that sea levels will carry on rising for over 1,000 years even if greenhouse gases can be curbed.”

So, we don’t stand a chance anyway.  We can’t do anything because now it’s gonna be 1000 years of this.  1000 years!!!!!  They can’t even predict the weather for the next 24 hours with 100% accuracy yet they can for 1000 years from now???

Anyway, this just stuck in my craw.  Thought I would share.  Hmmm..maybe I should rename this site to “Stuck in my craw!”.

How long should this moratorium be?  How can you put a time limit on something this stupid and bias?

Asking yourself a question

February 1, 2007

“Do I think the roads will ice over?  No.”

“Do I know where this will lead?  Yes.”

“Am I proud of what I did?  No.”

“Do I know Liberals don’t have a clue?   Absolutely!”

I cannot stand people who talk this way.  Just make your point.  You don’t have to talk to yourself while you’re at it!!!  5 year moratorium on ths.
